CANDLE WEBSITE

Still working on it but here is a link for our new candle website: www.recycledwinebottlecandles.com

You can still find candle info on our original website: www.zengari.com, but the candles are just sort of taking over lately so we decided they need their own home.

Check it out!

To Rome With Love . . .

YES, go see it! If you love Roma like we do, then why not go see a movie filmed entirely in Roma. Just the setting makes it completely worth while. The cast is great, the humor is quick witted & quirky. All around a very entertaining movie that pokes fun and makes a few good commentaries on life as we know it.

To Rome With Love

Going to see "To Rome With Love" tonight at the cool & funky Magic Theatre in Nevada City. Looks like our kind of movie. Will add to this post later and let you know how it was . . .

SynopsisTO ROME WITH LOVE is a kaleidoscopic comedy movie set in one of the world's most enchanting cities. The film brings us into contact with a well-known American architect reliving his youth; an average middle-class Roman who suddenly finds himself Rome's biggest celebrity; a young provincial couple drawn into separate romantic encounters; and an American opera director endeavoring to put a singing mortician on stage.

We LOVE Elephants

Here is a very worthy cause!
Visit website at http://www.pawsweb.org/

Since 1984, The Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) has been at the forefront of efforts to rescue and provide appropriate, humane sanctuary for animals who have been the victims of the exotic and performing animal trades. PAWS investigates reports of abused performing and exotic animals, documents cruelty and assists in investigations and prosecutions by regulatory agencies to alleviate the suffering of captive wildlife.

SACRED SPACES

Sacred space can take on many forms. What do you love? How do you create a special place for yourself to re-boot, revitalize & re-connect? Here are a few ideas:

In the September 2011 issue of Architectural Digest, the Malibu home of actors Will and Jada Pinkett Smith was featured.

Jada's meditation alcove                                           This bathtub looks like sacred space to me!

Meditation at the bar? Like it :)
Goldie Hawn's Malibu House

Music & Yoga in the wine cellar? YES!

THE CHURCHES OF VENICE

Here is a really cool website: http://www.churchesofvenice.co.uk/index.htm

Although we still prefer our own method of wandering around and stopping in to as many churches as possible, this is a great website to see what artists have contributed to which church.

An Address in Venice . . .

“When I went to Venice I discovered that my dream had become – incredibly, but quite simply – my address” Marcel Proust

Checking out apartments for sale in Venice. This is a good website: http://www.vovestates.com
It's also the same company we usually use for apartments rentals: http://www.viewsonvenice.com/

Johnny Depp is a smart guy:

He paid $13.4 million on a house in Venice after falling in love with the city during filming "The Tourist" with Angelina Jolie last year.

According to local newspaper "La Nuova Venezia," the actor outbid an Arab prince for the empty building, which is situated in the Santa Croce area of Venice and is one of the only available homes overlooking the famous Grand Canal. Apparently you can find many apartments for sale, but it is rare to have an entire palazzo on the market.

It is said that he fell in love with Venice while walking around the city at night after all the tourists and papparazi had left for the day and we completely understand. So many people just visit for the day, but at night you get the feeling of the real Venice. We always feel safe & enjoy our late night walks.

He enthused: 'My experience of Venice really happened between 10pm and 2am when the streets closed and I was able to walk around and experience the poetry of Venice, the ghosts of Venice, all those wonderful dark alleys.'

Cheers to the ghosts of Venice! We hope to meet Johnny on one of our late night walkabouts ;)
