An Address in Venice . . .

“When I went to Venice I discovered that my dream had become – incredibly, but quite simply – my address” Marcel Proust

Checking out apartments for sale in Venice. This is a good website: http://www.vovestates.com
It's also the same company we usually use for apartments rentals: http://www.viewsonvenice.com/

Johnny Depp is a smart guy:

He paid $13.4 million on a house in Venice after falling in love with the city during filming "The Tourist" with Angelina Jolie last year.

According to local newspaper "La Nuova Venezia," the actor outbid an Arab prince for the empty building, which is situated in the Santa Croce area of Venice and is one of the only available homes overlooking the famous Grand Canal. Apparently you can find many apartments for sale, but it is rare to have an entire palazzo on the market.

It is said that he fell in love with Venice while walking around the city at night after all the tourists and papparazi had left for the day and we completely understand. So many people just visit for the day, but at night you get the feeling of the real Venice. We always feel safe & enjoy our late night walks.

He enthused: 'My experience of Venice really happened between 10pm and 2am when the streets closed and I was able to walk around and experience the poetry of Venice, the ghosts of Venice, all those wonderful dark alleys.'

Cheers to the ghosts of Venice! We hope to meet Johnny on one of our late night walkabouts ;)
